2018 Bye bye

2018_

Post New Year celebration to Christmas, we hardly realize how soon the pages of the calendar flips. Another goodbye on the verge. 2018 may have been a chapter in your life or a full fledged book. In any which way, it is time to pick up a new one. It’s your wish if you want it to be a sequel of the present, or you wish for it be of an entirely new genre.

2018 welcoming

Sides of story untold. The one from the drafts. One more day to go for this year to end and I owe it to this post which I had saved in drafts on 1 Jan 2018 to go live, but never got to publishing it. I thought the post written on the first day of 2018 at least deserves to go out before the last day of the year.

Dear post, I am sorry I have been either too lazy or just some major procrastination happened. I better say both. Thanks for the patience that you held on to the entire year. So here you go, with my sincere apologies again..

Bold Italic and Underlined.

Please tell me it is a common human tendency to not pay attention to what’s always around and with what we have a feeling of permanency attached. I would like to believe so, otherwise I would seem just too mean and the worst friend ever. Because I have hardly met one of my best friends 8 times in 4 years, and guess what, we live not too far in the same city! 196153_503692749653801_835141428_n1

Someone I have known from Kindergarten, became friends somewhere down the line, graduated Engineering together, most of all, one of the very few friends that I have. Not solely because I am choosy but also because I am very bad at staying in contact. Anyway 20 years, yaaayyyy!

Clock face

Who remembers the end of 1999? I do, I precisely remember how I felt when it was the time to change the date we used to write in our notebooks, from 1999 to 2000. It took some preparation mentally to get to accepting that fact. All the digits being different for the first time ever, it was a big change!

And as I thought about those school days, the notebooks, and the excitement of writing ‘2000’, I was surprised it’s been 9 years already since that change. Too long a period. Wait a minute. Oh my dear God!! 19 years! I realized it wasn’t my math skills at question, time flew like a flash that for a split second, it felt just 9 years which also seemed too much, but 19 years! I don’t know what to call it. For now all I know is that it was so shocking, ‘Oh my dear God’ was a mere filtered version of the reaction. How a tiny thought can shock the hell out of our lives!

Boomerangs

No life is complete without a few who we meet along the way, those few who stay. No part of our brain would have strategically planned this. Nor in our rarest dreams would we have imagined to be friends with someone down the line. The connect is so weirdly special. Seems like an invisible line drawn between a Hi or even an eye contact to being great buddies. A shoulder to cry, a brain to roast and eat, a punching bag and what not!
